a whole lot of pj sewing this summer!

This is my sister teaching Sarah how to sew.  Sarah loved her pjs and the top MaaMaa appliqued for her.

Here I am teaching Surina how to show-she chose "nonfiction" fabric!

And then my sister and I used left over fabric from her own pjs and Surina's to make little SoSo a pair-fiction and nonfiction legs!
And finally a pair of pjs for baby Samie.  We used this Dr Who fabric in two and a half pairs of pjs!  I opted to put elastic at the ankles of these as Samie is learning to crawl and I figure it will be more comfortable for her.

I also made a pair of pjs for Magpie out of the Dr Who van gogh fabric.  I cut the waist shorter as she usually wears pjs low on her hips-but I may have cut them too low.  I hope she is still able to wear them! That used up three yards of fabric-plus I have mostly sewing a pair each for my boyos!

today's doings

Well, I patched two pairs of pjs for Tig-he is so rough on his clothes! And shaved all the pills of a hand-me-down dinosaur sweater (he's really into dinosaurs right now).

I also walked a mile on the treadmill.

So I get an A today!

chess and broken needles

I found this great flannel on a trip up to Austin.  I plan to surprise the boyos with chess pjs.  They are completely obsessed with chess right now.

My pilgrim quilt is with the quilter.  I told her to do anything she wanted with them.  I'm looking forward to seeing them when she is finished!
I started this sock after deciding I despised the one I worked on during in-service.  I cast on during a conference meeting and decided I would at last do a feather and fan pattern.  I had to keep ripping it out and redoing it as I was trying to make a 72 stitch pattern fit on 64 sts.  I ripped it back to the ribbing one final time and knit a plain row and increased the 8sts.  Then the knitting was fine.  Except for the broken needles.  I lost count but I think I broke four Britanny's and assorted bamboo needles. Ah well.  I dug out these old Pony's when I got home.  The tips are really blunt so it's difficult to do the K2tog but at least these won't break.  I hope. The yarn is much louder in person. ;-D

more pajamas

Found this adorable camping flannel at JoAnn's on Saturday.  Boyos are thrilled with their new pajamas.
And I ordered this Star Wars fabric as soon as I saw it.  Pajamas for me!!!!!!!

pjs

Made two sets of pjs for the boyos.  Two fish and two tools.  They are a little short for Red-his legs grew too fast!  So now I must remember to buy 2.5 yards of fabric if I want to make them each a pair.

See what you can do

It's amazing what you can do when you have a clear table!  These are some blocks for the Saturday Sampler at my LQS. I really like the ...
