My quilter sent me a sneak peek of the Eagle quilt for my nephew. It should be here tomorrow! Unfortunately, my nephew is shipping out to Air Force basic training first thing in the morning! Oh well, it gives me plenty of time to make the binding and have it ready for his first leave home.
I really can't wait to see the whole thing-it looks gorgeous!

progress
I've been working on this shawl lately. I didn't get as much sewing finished over the weekend as I wanted to finish the colorwork on the shawl. Plus I just felt really knitty.
This poor photo shows my additions to the quilt. I got the blue and white stripes on and started cutting out star blocks. I need 28 star blocks!

two borders down
My goal for the weekend was to get these two borders on. Then last evening I started cutting blue and white fabric for the stripes. Most of the fabric I'm using for this project is from my Jo Morton stash. I'll keep doing that tonight. Maybe even start sewing them together if I'm not too tired. . .

The Eagle. . .
I finally got started on my nephew's quilt that I promised I would make him when he finished his Eagle Scout. I'm combining two quilt patterns and I was really intimidated by this Eagle applique. I did go back and add another layer of white fabric for the tail feathers and the head. I felt like the backing was showing through too much.
