a little Tapestry

Last month I decided to start working on the blocks from the finishing kit for Tapestry, a Saturday Sampler from my LQS. This was the sampler from 2020.  There were four large blocks:

And eight smaller blocks: It took forever to do these as I really prefer the points to line up.  I hand basted most of these to ensure the points were good.  It was a strain on my eyes for sure!

A little sampler and a block

I made this little sampler for my nephew and his wife.  It's their wedding gift but it was a little late-like a year and a few days later.  Oh well, it's totally cute and I hope they love it.  I found the pattern on etsy. The pattern offers the charts three different ways: symbols, symbols and color, just color.  Well I used the color chart and it made it so much easier!  I will try to find more charts like that.

Miss September is for the Saturday Sampler at the LQS.  It was a pretty easy block.   Three more months to go!

Miss August

Ready for Saturday

This year's Saturday Sampler is using all batiks.  The blocks aren't difficult but there are fifteen different fabrics so you really have to pay attention to what goes where.  I'm already out of one of them for some reason.

Five Saturdays

So here are my blocks for the 2020 Saturday Sampler.  We met as usual for January, February and March  and then we got dropped into this weird trans-dimensional pandemic.

I am enjoying these blocks.  They are more difficult to do because of the number of fabrics required.  Also, the original fabrics for the BOM are not available so we are using substitutions so it's hard to track which fabric goes where sometimes.  I haven't seen the final quilt yet because who knows when our Saturday group at the LQS will meet again?

See what you can do

It's amazing what you can do when you have a clear table!  These are some blocks for the Saturday Sampler at my LQS. I really like the ...
