Finished my wagon

I can't remember when I started stitching this.  Very Little House on the Prairie, isn't it?

Sashing

I started this BOM in 2009 and it was a bit above my skill level.  I put it in timeout until a few years ago when I went to town finishing the blocks. (I finished the blocks in 2018.)  It went back into timeout because of the sashing.  Not a fan of sashing for some reason.  Anyway my 2021 Word of the Year is  Sashing.  I have a box of blocks for multiple quilts that need to be sashed so last night I finally started working on it (with help from Lucy!).  I actually got further than this photo shows-the second row is on and I started sashing the third row. I got really frustrated with block number 7 so I ripped it apart last night and I'll try to remake it tonight.  I was losing too many points on that block! I can really tell how much I have grown as a quilter!  I'm looking forward to finishing this quilt-I think it is my oldest UFO! I just saw a tip on Fb to sew a strip of the cornerstones onto a block of sashing and then cut.  I have already cut the sashing and cornerstones on my Accuquilt but will definitely try this technique on the next Sashing quilt.

I am such a Lemming

I saw on Sisters Choice blog about the Little Blocks 365 and could not resist signing up.  I'm six weeks behind but I don't care.  All of the blocks are 3.5 inches and are paperpieced!  I've been wanting to get proficient at paperpiecing-I think I've actually completed one whole block-and there is a world of gorgeous patterns out there.  This also pushed ahead of my Sashing project this weekend but I loved every minute of it.  I am using my Civil War repro scraps and will be cutting into some other pieces to increase variety of colors.  I hope I can get caught up and keep up!
