Pupper!

I can't believe Karen the Quilter got this quilt back to me so fast!  It is so snuggly.  I was stitching the binding down and put it down for a moment and one of my sister's puppers decided to snuggle it.  I was sorry to take it away from him.  I think this is Dogter with the quilt. He's so sweet!

Special bag, special girl

A few years ago I made a pair of pjs for my niece. She loves foxes and, of course, I saved the scraps from the fabric.  My mom suggested I make her a totebag for Christmas so here it is!  The turquoise is from Magpie's graduation quilt (still not finished) and I found the pompom trim at JoAnn.  Note: use the zipper foot to stitch on the pompom trim.  It worked really well. The star on the front is a pocket and there is another pocket on the inside.  My sister in law was surprised that I kept the leftover fabric from the pjs.  I also do because I like to try to make more things for the person if they like the fabric.  My niece was extremely happy and said it was her favorite Christmas gift.  That really made me happy!

And this pink rose tote is my new trolley for my Featherweight!  My last trolley had a broken handle.  It is now used for storing batting scraps!  This one is really an upgrade.  It's got more pockets and the wheels are inline wheels which are so much easier to steer.  It was on sale at JoAnn *and* I had a coupon *and* my mom gave me money for Christmas so I was about ten bucks out of pocket!

For the little girls

I made these two quilt tops for my youngest two nieces.  I tried to make them as identical as possible!  The fabric is Olaf and the two Frozen girls. (I've never seen the movie so I don't remember names.)  My sister gave them a loft bed for their dolls so they needed quilts!  The backing is leftover pink damask minky from my Sheri Beri Holiday quilt.  The girls loved the doll quilts and that's all that matters!

Can't believe I forgot to post these!

I can't believe I forgot to upload these quilts last December! I decided to knock out some kits that I have had for a LONG time.  The first one is Isn't Christmas Jolly? I also used my Accuquilt cutter as much as I could on these quilts.

Next was Sheri Berry Holiday.  This picture doesn't show how beautiful and soft the colors are.  I bought a ton of this fabric because I loved it so much.

Finally this is Critter Christmas.  It's a bit longer than the pattern but I wanted to use more of the border fabric.

Rex is being helpful and modelling for me!

a little mischief

I was having a bummer day last week about treated myself to a pattern I had long pinned.  This is Christmas Mischief and the pattern is available on etsy.

I just love this: Oh Dear there's a mistake:

And then you see the little elf who caused the mischief!  The elf in red is full size-12 inches square.  The pink elf is half sized and will go to my friend Susie along with a six-inch quilt stand.  She likes pink better than red so I'm hoping she really likes this. I'm still stitching down the elves-need appropriate pink and green for the little one.  I'm really loving them.

Finished Baubles

I'm not sure if I like the borders or not but I'm really happy to have made this!

Baubles

Many years ago I made a quilt for my Grandmama using Georgette Christmas.  I had some fabric left over so I saved it.  When we were clearing out my Grandmama's house, my aunt asked if she could keep the quilt.  I said yes, of course.  My auntie is a quilter too and I knew she would enjoy it.  So this weekend, I asked myself what did I want to sew?  And it was this little quilt. I'm hoping to sew the blocks together tonight.  It isn't exactly like the first one but I'll always think of my Grandmama when I see it.

This is the Saturday Sampler block for March.
